Gender-affirming care therapy supports individuals navigating questions or experiences related to gender identity, expression, or transition. People seeking this type of support may be exploring their gender identity, experiencing gender dysphoria, managing social or medical transitions, or processing the emotional impact of societal stigma and discrimination. This care is essential not only for transgender and nonbinary individuals but also for anyone seeking to live authentically and align their gender experience with their internal sense of self. Many people also come to therapy for support around family dynamics, relationships, or trauma related to their gender journey.
Therapists providing gender-affirming care at Westside Behavioral Care work from a place of deep respect, inclusion, and validation. Treatment may incorporate modalities like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR, and trauma-informed care to address anxiety, depression, trauma, and other concerns. Many Westside therapists also collaborate with medical providers when support letters or documentation are needed. Our goal is to create a safe, affirming space where individuals of all gender identities feel seen, supported, and empowered to thrive. Appointments are available in person across the Greater Denver Area, including Littleton, Broomfield, Aurora, Wheat Ridge, and Arvada, or through secure online therapy statewide. All of our therapists are in-network with Kaiser Permanente, and many are also credentialed with other insurance plans. You can browse available therapists by specialty, insurance, location, and age to find the right fit for your needs. You can also call us at (303) 986-4197 or email info@westsidebehavioral.com for personal assistance scheduling your first session. FREE RESOURCE: Colorado Address Confidentiality Program (ACP)

Colorado has launched the Colorado Address Confidentiality Program (ACP) which offers protections for reproductive and gender-affirming healthcare workers and their patients. Amongst other protections, the program offers participants a legal substitute address and mail forwarding. This substitute address may be used in lieu of participants’ actual address of residency and all state and local government agencies are required to accept it. Public records may reflect the substitute address, increasing the safety of participants if someone is trying to find and cause them harm. Additional details: https://dcs.colorado.gov/acp
