Cookie Policy

Last Updated & Effective Date: September 8, 2026

Westside Behavioral Care, Inc. (“Westside,” “WBC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) uses a limited number of cookies and similar technologies on westsidebehavioralcare.com and WBC-owned online services.

Our approach is deliberately minimal. These technologies are used for Website security, remembering your privacy choices, and optional privacy-respecting analytics that help us understand and improve the Website.

WBC does not use advertising cookies, does not use cookies for cross-site behavioral advertising, and does not sell personal data.

This Cookie Policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small pieces of information that a website can store in your browser. They can be used for functions such as remembering settings, maintaining security, or recognizing a visitor’s preferences.

Some website technologies can perform similar functions without placing a cookie on your device. For that reason, this Policy also explains certain non-cookie technologies used for analytics and Website security.

How WBC Uses Cookies and Similar Technologies

WBC currently uses these technologies for three limited purposes:

Security. We use security technology to help distinguish legitimate form submissions from automated spam or abuse.

Consent preferences. We use a cookie to remember the privacy and cookie choices you make through our consent banner.

Analytics. We use optional, privacy-focused analytics to understand Website traffic, referral sources, and general Website usage so that we can improve usability and the experience of people seeking care.

We do not use these technologies to build advertising profiles or track visitors across unrelated websites.

The cookies described in this Policy are not used to store the contents of appointment inquiries, insurance information, psychotherapy information, treatment records, or other clinical information.

Necessary Cookies

Necessary cookies and technologies support security and privacy functions that are required for the Website to operate as intended. They cannot generally be disabled through WBC’s cookie-preference controls because the functions they provide are necessary to operate or protect the Website.

cookieyes-consent
Provider:
CookieYes
Purpose: Remembers the privacy and cookie preferences selected through WBC’s consent banner so that the Website can apply those choices on future visits.
Duration: Up to 1 year
Category: Necessary
Description: This cookie records consent preferences. It is not used by WBC for advertising, behavioral profiling, or cross-site tracking. CookieYes documentation identifies cookieyes-consent as the cookie used to read and apply a visitor’s consent selections.

ALTCHA
Provider: WBC / self-hosted ALTCHA implementation
Purpose: Helps verify legitimate form submissions and protect Website forms against automated spam and abuse.
Duration: Short-lived / session-based and used in connection with form verification
Category: Necessary
Description: WBC’s ALTCHA implementation is self-hosted and is used as a security measure. It is not used for advertising, analytics, profiling, or cross-site tracking. ALTCHA verification does not receive the contents of an appointment inquiry for advertising or profiling purposes.

Analytics

WBC uses Matomo Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how people find and use the Website.

Matomo Analytics
Provider:
WBC / self-hosted Matomo
Purpose: Measures Website activity such as pages visited, referral sources, general interactions, browser or device characteristics, and approximate geographic usage.
Category: Optional Analytics
Analytics cookies: Disabled
Description: Matomo is configured to operate without analytics cookies. Matomo’s own documentation confirms that its analytics system can continue measuring Website activity while tracking cookies are disabled.

Although Matomo does not set analytics cookies in WBC’s current configuration, WBC treats analytics as an optional category through its consent-management system. Choosing not to enable analytics does not prevent you from accessing the Website, searching for a provider, submitting an inquiry, or scheduling an appointment.

IP addresses used for analytics are partially masked before being used for approximate location information. WBC does not use analytics to determine a visitor’s precise physical location.

Analytics information is configured for automatic deletion after approximately two months.

WBC does not use Matomo for advertising, remarketing, cross-site tracking, or advertising personalization.

What We Do Not Use

WBC does not currently use Website cookies or similar technologies for:
– Targeted or behavioral advertising
– Remarketing
– Cross-site tracking
– Advertising personalization
– Selling personal data
– Creating advertising profiles based on your interest in behavioral healthcare

We also do not intentionally place appointment-request contents, insurance information, diagnoses, treatment information, psychotherapy notes, or clinical records into cookies.

If WBC’s Website technology changes in the future, we will update our consent configuration and this Policy as appropriate.

Managing Your Preferences

You can review or change your cookie and analytics preferences at any time through the Cookie Settings control available on the Website. For convenience, also provided below.

Changing your preferences will cause WBC to apply your new choices to optional technologies going forward.

Necessary security and consent-preference technologies will remain active because they are needed to protect the Website or remember your choices.

CookieYes provides a persistent consent control specifically so visitors can revisit and change or withdraw their selections.

You may also use your browser’s privacy settings to delete or block cookies. Blocking all cookies at the browser level may prevent the Website from remembering your privacy preferences and may affect certain security or Website functions.

Global Privacy Control

WBC honors applicable Global Privacy Control (“GPC”) signals.

GPC is a browser-based privacy signal recognized by the Colorado Department of Law as a Universal Opt-Out Mechanism under the Colorado Privacy Act. Colorado residents can use it to communicate an opt-out from the sale of personal data and the use of personal data for targeted advertising.

WBC does not sell personal data and does not use personal data collected through the Website for targeted advertising. Accordingly, a GPC signal does not ordinarily require WBC to discontinue an existing sale or targeted-advertising activity because WBC does not engage in those activities.

Where applicable, WBC’s consent-management system also uses the visitor’s privacy preferences when determining which optional technologies may operate.

For more information about your Colorado privacy rights and how WBC processes privacy requests, please see our Privacy Policy.

Third-Party Website Features

Some portions of the Website may display content or resources provided through other services, such as review content or map information.

Loading an external resource can result in standard technical information, such as an IP address, browser information, and the requesting page, being transmitted to the service that delivers the resource even when no cookie is placed on your device.

Our Privacy Policy provides additional information about the technology providers used on the Website, including Trustindex and OpenStreetMap-related services.

WBC does not provide appointment-form contents to these services for targeted advertising.

WBC may update this Cookie Policy when its Website technology, consent practices, or legal obligations change.

When we make changes, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. Material changes will receive additional notice when required by applicable law.

We also use our consent-management platform to periodically scan the Website for cookies and related technologies so that our classifications and disclosures can be reviewed as the Website changes.
