I hold such a strong belief that authenticity supports connection and healing. I use an attachment approach when working with children and adults. Some of the frameworks that inform my work include: Circle of Security, Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB), and Systems theories. I have a passion for helping folx feel less alone and more connected to themselves and others.
If you are a caregiver of a child age 3-8, I am here to work with your child as well as to support the relationship between you and your child. Your child will never be more regulated than you are, and that’s why I believe involving and supporting caregivers while working with the child is the best recipe for success. I often hear caregivers say, “This isn’t about me, it’s about them.” When working with children I know it’s about the whole family. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist I am trained and skilled in working with the entire family to bring the changes you are looking for.
If you are an adult, I am here to support you with trauma related stressors, relational struggles, and daily life challenges. I do not work with couples; however, I have many trusted colleagues I can refer you to. My priority in our work together is to develop a safe and connected therapeutic relationship as the mental health field has come to find this is the number one positive outcome predictor for therapy. While much of my work is with children, over time I have come to see that even when working with adults it is their hurting child within that has sought out healing. When working together we will use mindfulness, somatic work (work with the body), and experiential work (art, sand, etc.). Talk therapy is helpful, but when working with trauma related struggles, depressive struggles, or anxiety I have been told by many clients a body focused approach has helped them connect quicker and experience a deeper level of healing.
I have a very personal understanding of how hard it can be to take the leap into healing work for ourselves. I am committed to being present, curious, and connected with you at every step you want to take in your healing journey. I truly feel a deep sense of gratitude that I have been given permission to walk with others on their journey.
With that said some folks find it helpful to know a bit about my training. I hold a Master’s Degree of Science in Couples/Marriage and Family Therapy. I am also a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor, Certified Synergetic Play Therapist, Certified Trauma Play Therapist, EMDR CIT, Completed Level 1 Theraplay Training, and trained as a Circle of Security Parenting Facilitator.
