I am a firm believer in the strength, wisdom, and resilience inherent in us all. Yet, as humans we often struggle to connect to our potential. Often, we find ourselves stuck repeating old unhealthy patterns and living lives that fall short of our hopes and expectations. Therapy can be a great tool for finding new approaches to old problems, providing a fresh set of eyes to notice strengths that may be hiding beneath limiting beliefs and daily pressures. My goal is to help you find a strong trust in yourself and your inner wisdom. We’ll work to build confidence and skills that you will use long after therapy has concluded. Whether your challenges relate to past trauma, relationship issues, life transitions, or anxiety/depression, we will work to cultivate self-awareness and strategies for coping with whatever comes your way.
I work with an eclectic variety of traditional and non-traditional approaches including, TIST (Trauma Informed Stabilization Treatment), Parts Work, EMDR, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness, and body-based approaches. I have a calm and relatable style, and believe that acceptance, respect, humor, and honesty are a few of the most important qualities I can bring to my sessions.
I have a bachelor’s degree in social work from Eastern University and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Denver. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of Colorado and have been practicing in the field of Counseling and Social Work for over 30 years.
During that time, I’ve worked extensively with individuals and families as a caseworker, therapist, mentor, parent coach, equine therapist and hospital social worker. Over the past 10 years I’ve been in private practice with a primary focus on adults, with a strong emphasis on healing from trauma, women’s issues and transitions. I am a certified TIST (Trauma Informed Stabilization Treatment) practitioner and have trained through level 2 EMDR.
