Table of Contents
Westside Behavioral Care, Inc. (“Westside” or “WBC”) is committed to making westsidebehavioralcare.com accessible and usable for people with disabilities.
We want people seeking behavioral healthcare to be able to find information, explore providers, and contact us without unnecessary barriers. Accessibility is an ongoing part of our Website design, maintenance, and improvement process.
Our Accessibility Approach
WBC uses the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (“WCAG”) 2.2 Level AA as a technical reference and accessibility goal for the Website.
WCAG 2.2 is published by the World Wide Web Consortium and provides recommendations for making web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities.
We address accessibility through a combination of Website design and development practices, ongoing corrections during Website maintenance and redesigns, and accessibility technology.
Because websites, browsers, assistive technologies, and Website content continually change, we do not represent that every page or feature will be completely accessible to every person or satisfy every accessibility criterion at all times. We welcome reports of accessibility barriers so that we can investigate and address them.
Accessibility Technology
WBC uses accessWidget by AccessiBe as one component of our accessibility efforts.
AccessWidget provides visitors with accessibility controls and uses automated and artificial-intelligence-assisted technology to analyze aspects of Website content and support accessibility functions such as keyboard navigation, screen-reader compatibility, and user-selected visual and interface adjustments.
Automated accessibility technology is only one part of WBC’s accessibility approach and does not replace our responsibility to identify and address accessibility issues in the Website itself.
WBC’s current implementation of accessWidget does not include a conversational artificial-intelligence chatbot. Its AI-assisted accessibility functionality does not provide clinical, medical, mental health, scheduling, insurance, or other healthcare advice and is not used to make decisions about Website visitors.
For information about the limited technical information processed by accessWidget, please see our Privacy Policy.
Accessibility Features
Depending on your browser, device, and assistive technology, accessWidget may provide options that allow you to adjust aspects of the Website’s presentation and interaction to better meet your individual needs.
These may include adjustments relating to contrast, text appearance, animations, content emphasis, navigation, keyboard use, and screen-reader support.
You are not required to use accessWidget to access the Website. WBC also works to improve accessibility within the Website’s underlying content and design.
Appointment Scheduling Application
This Accessibility Statement applies to the Website at westsidebehavioralcare.com.
WBC’s appointment-scheduling application at appointments.westsidebehavioralcare.com is a separate WBC-owned system operating on different technical infrastructure. The AccessiBe technology described in this Statement is not currently installed on that system.
If you encounter an accessibility barrier while using the appointment-scheduling application, please contact WBC. Our staff can assist you with finding a provider or arranging an initial appointment through an alternative method.
Ongoing Accessibility Efforts
WBC reviews and improves accessibility as Website content, design, and technology change.
Automated tools can help identify or address some accessibility issues, but they may not identify every barrier. We therefore also consider accessibility when making Website design and content changes and work to correct issues brought to our attention.
Our current accessibility efforts are guided by WCAG 2.2 Level AA and applicable accessibility requirements.
