I am dedicated to learning more about the specific issues that you are facing, and the best ways to deal with the issues in your life.
“My heart aches and a drowsy numbness pains my sense…” If you’ve ever felt something like this, then you know how hard life can be, and so do I. But, you don’t have to resign yourself to a life half-lived. By working together, I can help you develop and hone the kinds of life-skills that have helped me to turn my life around and will help you conquer your life’s many stresses and challenges. So, if you can commit to putting in the time and effort, then I can commit to helping you change your habits and perspectives, and start living your whole life the way it was meant to be.
Now, allow me to briefly introduce myself. I am originally from the Washington, D.C. area, and I have been living in Denver since 2015. For fun, I like running, hiking, camping, playing music, and playing with my two happy, little dogs, Louie and Diver. My mom was born in Finland, and my dad was born in Northern Ireland, which makes me the first person in my family to be born in the United States, and is also the reason why my name is Tomas instead of Thomas.
Both of my parents are cancer researchers, and so I have learned the value of using scientific knowledge, even with something as creative and artful as counseling and therapy. And one of the exciting things about counseling is that we are always learning newer and better ways to help.
I specialize in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, but I am dedicated to learning more about the specific issues that you are facing, and the best ways to deal with the issues in your life. Acknowledging that you need help can be very difficult, and actually asking for that help is even harder. But, even just thinking about trying therapy shows that you care enough about yourself to want to improve your life. So, why not take the next step? Every journey begins with just a single footstep… Where will your next footstep take you?
