Christa strives to approach each of her clients with curiosity, warmth, and empathy, knowing that a trusting therapeutic relationship is the foundation of healing and growth.
Christa has always had a desire to come alongside people in their journeys of emotional and mental well-being, and in 2019 she graduated with her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Denver Seminary. She is passionate about creating space for clients to wrestle with difficult questions and address underlying causes of their distress. Christa has experience counseling couples, young adults and college students, individuals struggling with addictions and severe mental illness, and people healing through anxiety, depression, and trauma-related issues. She deeply believes that many of our most painful or confusing experiences in life are also ripe with growth, life, and hope – if we have courage to walk forward on the journey we never would have planned for ourselves.
Christa strives to approach each of her clients with curiosity, warmth, and empathy, knowing that a trusting therapeutic relationship is the foundation of healing and growth. Her aim is to use evidence-based practice to empower clients to experience integrated healing of their heart, mind, and emotions, and make meaningful and lasting changes in their lives. As a counselor, she most often utilizes emotional and cognitive skills from CBT and DBT with more person-centered approaches such as narrative therapy or existential perspectives. She also believes in honoring the unique strengths and needs of each individual and is happy to get creative with clients to find the most helpful therapeutic approach.
In her personal life, Christa is an avid learner and adventurer who also enjoys a healthy amount of rest and naps. She can often be found cooking new recipes, tending her garden, hiking in the mountains, or reading several books at once because she can’t decide on just one.
