Abigail Lockhart - Psy.D
Prior to starting a private practice in 2019, I worked for five years as an Integrated Behavioral Health Provider at Denver Health in a primary care clinic. In this role, I worked directly with medical providers to address a wide variety of mental and physical health issues. This experience is reflected in my approach to therapy where I focus on treating clients through a lens that highlights the importance of the mind-body connection. I feel that it is important to take an integrated, team-based approach to care and I will ask permission to actively collaborate with other health care providers, if appropriate for the treatment plan.
Currently, I work with adults only and provide individual psychotherapy in a private office setting. I specialize in treating anxiety and mood changes that are common around the life transitions of pregnancy and parenting, as well as the psychological impact of pregnancy loss and infertility. More broadly, I offer treatment for clients who are looking to address concerns related to depression, anxiety, adjustment to life changes, as well as grief/loss. Establishing a trusting relationship is the foundation to my approach and while I will offer a variety of interventions, I work in partnership with my clients to tailor these interventions so they are appropriate for each individual’s life circumstances.
